Göppingen-headquartered technology company TeamViewer AG has expanded its partnership with enterprise software giant SAP by integrating its Augmented Reality (AR) platform with the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) application.
TeamViewer aims to proactively shape digital transformation and continuously innovate in the fields of AR, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI). The company’s AR solution Frontline was recognised under the SAP Pinnacle Awards’ Partner Application – Industry Cloud category. The award acknowledges a partner-built innovative industry cloud solution that complements SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and SAP’s Industry Cloud portfolio. TeamViewer’s SAP endorsed application emerged as the winner over other finalists, MSG and Vistex.
Demonstrating its commitment to accelerating resilience and agility across global supply chains, TeamViewer recently announced the integration of Frontline with SAP EWM which is intended to assist organisations in further improving their logistics operations in SAP EWM and empowering their employees with AR-based vision picking, which helps to enhance productivity and efficiency throughout their whole warehouse and logistics processes.
Stefan Krauss, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Discrete Industries and Energy & Natural Resources at SAP, believes that the recent disruptions in the supply chain have impacted almost everyone globally. He further shared:
“Companies who have adapted the quickest have deployed agile warehouse management applications like SAP EWM, enabling them to rapidly adjust to external shocks and respond to demand, supply and workforce challenges quickly.”
Commenting on TeamViewer’s latest investment into its partnership with the German tech giant, Krauss remarked:
“Now with the integration of TeamViewer’s AR-based vision picking solution, together we can help our customers build more resilient supply chains that are also cost-effective to run.”
Integration of TeamViewer Frontline and SAP EWM
SAP EWM is a component of SAP’s Supply Chain Management Suite of solutions and is an integrated software platform that provides rigid, automated assistance for processing goods movements and for handling inventory in the warehouse. By integrating SAP EWM with TeamViewer’s Frontline solution, enterprises will be able to immediately link warehouse and logistics personnel in real-time and equip them with crucial data and insights required in carrying out their responsibilities.
Moreover, the integration is the latest step towards a successful innovative collaboration between the two German tech companies. In June 2021, TeamViewer officially became a part of the SAP partner program to jointly help customers in expediting digitalisation and bringing innovation all the way to frontline employees at a global scale. The expanded alliance further solidified TeamViewer’s investments and successes in the enterprise segment in recent years as well as marked the start of a long-term partnership with SAP.
Now, combining Frontline and SAP EWM adds to the enduring value that has already been achieved with integrations into SAP Service and Asset Manager and SAP Field Service Management, both of which are part of SAP’s Digital Supply Chain products.
TeamViewer Business Development Executive Vice President Alfredo Patron stated that the company’s partnership with SAP is founded on shared objectives which are innovation and disruption through cutting-edge technologies that empower organisations in their digital transformation efforts. He added:
“Our vision picking solution significantly improves warehouse inbound and outbound processes, resulting in faster pick rates, better accuracy, and ultimately higher customer satisfaction. Moreover, it reduces the training and onboarding time of workers in a high employee churn environment.”
