The deepening presence of SAP in Australia and New Zealand is further bolstered by the tech multinational’s latest business strategy to partner with ANZ PR company Herd MSL and the appointment of New Zealand Managing Director Adrian Griffin.
Following the most recent SAP ANZ Partner Excellence Awards 2022, an annual awarding event that recognises SAP partners and customers’ success and contribution in the SAP ecosystem in the Australia and New Zealand region, the software enterprise giant has made two significant announcements that would further propel the company’s business in ANZ.
New NZ Managing Director
There is much anticipation in the announcement of the next chief of SAP New Zealand after the two major leadership shuffles in SAP ANZ last month– Phil Cameron’s promotion as Chief Operating Officer (COO) succeeding Pete Andrew’s appointment as the newly created position of Head of Industries. To make headway for New Zealand’s SAP business momentum, the software giant has appointed SAP veteran Adrian Griffin as the Managing Director in New Zealand to steer the company’s customer operations in the country.
SAP ANZ President and Managing Director Damien Bueno highlighted the significant contribution of SAP New Zealand in the total business of the German company’s ANZ unit. He said the country has been at the forefront of cloud adoption, with innovative, forward-thinking customers that are focussed on achieving greater flexibility and faster innovation cycles. Commenting about entrusting SAP’s business in New Zealand to Griffin, Bueno said:
“I believe Adrian’s appointment will broaden and strengthen our leadership team in New Zealand. He brings exceptional leadership qualities to the role of MD. His focus on customer success combined with his collaborative and empathetic leadership style will ensure our customers are supported to grow and succeed in this dynamic market.”
The newly appointed NZ MD has been establishing his career in SAP for twelve years and had held several leadership roles such as Services Sales Director and General Manager Industry for the New Zealand sector. Griffin is also a known advocate of developing SAP talents through programmes like SAP Academy and STAR Intern.
“There is a huge opportunity in New Zealand now, with organisations searching for ways to not just be resilient to the pandemic but to be able to move forward with growth, and in ways that better equip them for the challenges ahead,” SAP New Zealand MD Griffin said. “I’m thrilled to be in a position to help customers across New Zealand achieve their ambitions and I look forward to delivering some outstanding results in 2022 and beyond”.

SAP Australia has announced its latest partnership with Herd MSL, a public relations and integrated communications agency catering to the ANZ region, to collaborate with the global communications team in the country. The alliance will focus on reinforcing SAP’s reputation as a trusted partner for Australian organisations to help them become intelligent, sustainable enterprises leveraging innovative technologies and solutions.
