SAP recently announced that its openSAP platform has reached five million course enrollments, accelerating its growth as a leading provider of innovative, expert-led Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The award-winning SAP online training platform helps individuals stay up-to-date with the most recent SAP solutions and digital technologies.

As total course enrollments doubled in the last three years, this accelerated growth marks an important milestone for openSAP. Roughly 20,000 enrollments were recorded in 250 different courses, totaling 1.2 million learners across the SAP online training platform.

Students, professionals, and organisations utilising openSAP pursue course topics on the latest SAP innovations including SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Leonardo technologies, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Ariba Sourcing. Additionally, older courses relevant to the intelligent enterprise are still being offered as they continue to bring in new enrollments in the free online learning platform.

Leveraging tried and trusted learning concepts, the SAP online training platform provides a variety of learning options. This includes Enterprise MOOCs granting learners a certificate to demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired upon completing the courses. Users can also enjoy complementary learning opportunities in the form of Podcasts and Microlearning. These tools allow learners to stream or download episodes to better equip themselves with knowledge from members of the SAP ecosystem.

Meanwhile, SAP EVP and Chief Learning Officer Maxwell Wessel recognised the high demand for reskilling in today’s digitally-driven landscape. He said that SAP remains committed to investing in free offerings like openSAP to reduce learning barriers for all.

“Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our ecosystem – customers, partners, developers and employees – all have the right skills to thrive in a digital world and are equipped with the knowledge they need to prepare for the future,” Wessel maintained.

Celebrating Continued Momentum for SAP’s Online Training Platform

To celebrate openSAP’s milestone and ultimately provide learners with the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to navigate the SAP software landscape, the tech giant has announced that it is offering its course SAP’s Integrated Intelligent Suite on the platform until the end of July.

Hosted and run by the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), openSAP’s achievement shows the impact of SAP’s strategy in growing its communities exponentially. Emphasising the need to have an accessible learning environment for all in this age of digital transformation, Professor Hasso Plattner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SAP SE, stated in the announcement:

“With the COVID-19 pandemic upending all facets of life and forcing many to move to a remote working and learning environment, it has become more important than ever to lower the barriers to essential knowledge to provide learners with the right tools and resources to continue to achieve and further their skills.”

SAP is committed to extending its collaborative, social, and flexible learning content through openSAP as it aims to foster continuous learning in today’s intelligent enterprise. Adapting to the rapidly changing learning environment, the software giant’s learning portfolio will be expanded and enhanced by developing freely accessible offerings tailored to learners’ ever-evolving needs.

Expressing optimism for the SAP online training platform’s milestone, Plattner further said:

“It is tremendous to see what we have achieved so far with openSAP, and we are excited to continue to be part of our customers’ learning journeys as we work to meet their evolving needs.”
