SAP has teamed up with computer and technology product distributor, Ingram Micro, to extend the market reach of its enterprise mobility solutions to SMBs.
By utilising Ingram’s wide distribution network of value-added resellers (VARs), SAP’s apps will reach a broader section of the VAR community.
In turn, Ingram’s VARs will now have access to the entire SAP mobility portfolio, including SAP Afaria and 300 mobile apps on the iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry platforms.
SAP will also be able to take advantage of the mobile device lifecycle management services Ingram acquired through its purchase of BrightPoint last year.
As part of the agreement, the distributor will educate its channel partners on building mobility business with the SAP mobile platform.
“We expect the mobile revolution will benefit our joint customers and resellers, while also allowing thousands of small development firms and individual developers to innovate on top of SAP’s industry-leading mobile platform and solutions,” said Sanjay Poonen, SAP technology solutions president and mobile division head.
