SAP solution offerings have been recognized in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for a number of years. This year, SAP is once again being lauded as a Leader in various fields, with high marks given for its ability to execute and completeness of vision.
With its market-defining perspective of how Procure-to-Pay (P2P) technology can assist procurement professionals to accomplish business goals for maintaining compliance and regulating external spending, SAP has recently been named a Leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for P2P Suites for the seventh year in a row. This month also saw the announcement that the enterprise software giant had been named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems (CDBMS) by the same research and consulting firm.
Recognizing SAP Procurement Solution Offerings
SAP was ranked as a Leader by Gartner in their evaluation of 16 different providers of procure-to-pay software due to the company’s “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute” in this segment. In addition, the German tech giant was the only company to place in the top three for all critical capability use cases in the 2022 Gartner Critical Capabilities for P2P Suites study.
According to Baber Farooq, Senior Vice President (SVP) of SAP Procurement Solutions, SAP attributes its higher placement in this year’s Gartner Magic Quadrant to the increased recognition of the company’s end-to-end solution suite, which provides clients and trade partners with a clear picture of all spending throughout the whole procurement and payment processes. Further commenting on the ranking it received this 2022, he said:
“We especially appreciate that Gartner has recognized our “market defining vision.” Introduced about two years ago, our vision is based on extensive research and has, to be candid, forced us to change the way we approach development of our solutions.”
Farooq stated that SAP has a history of providing new solutions to handle specific difficulties at each stage of the procure-to-pay process with the help of SAP’s Procurement portfolio, which includes SAP Ariba, SAP S/4HANA for Procurement, and SAP Business Network. He continued by saying that SAP was responsible for a lot of the innovations in the procurement process that are now considered fundamental, such computerized catalogs and Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Also, SAP is ahead of the curve when it comes to integrating risk and diversity scores into guided purchasing, or linking work orders from SAP S/4HANA into Guided Buying and SAP Fieldglass.
In addition, SAP Fieldglass and SAP Business Network allow companies to better manage their contingent workforce costs and develop meaningful relationships with their suppliers and other business partners. Better user experience is another benefit of SAP Central Procurement’s newest update, which is aimed at digitalizing and streamlining the purchasing process for SAP’s clientele. Moreover, SAP Central Procurement provides clients with enhanced visibility and control over procurement operations in a multi-enterprise resource planning (ERP), including non-SAP ERP, setting.
“As we look to the future, customers can expect SAP to deliver next-generation applications that enable personalization, predictability, and sustainability as the foundation for delivering value in the procurement process,” Farooq remarked.
Highlighting SAP’s Position in the CDBMS Market
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant also evaluates and ranks the leading Cloud Database Management Systems (CDBMS) providers based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute, providing a snapshot of the industry’s most important companies. Providers of public and private cloud data management software systems are included in the CDBMS market. Companies in the technology sector that impress with both a comprehensive vision and a proven track record of leadership are named Leaders by Gartner.
When it comes to cloud-based DBMS, Gartner has once again positioned SAP as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant. According to JG Chirapurath, Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer for SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), the recognition from Gartner validates the company’s efforts to assist businesses in modernizing their data strategies and identifying new uses for data.
SAP is dedicated to streamlining its customers’ digital transformation processes by providing a business-centric cloud data and analytics offering that makes use of customers’ existing investments, provides real-time insights and allows for the development of action plans to boost operational efficiency. SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud are two examples of the company’s data and analytics solutions, both of which leverage SAP data’s full business context and significance to influence the most critical decisions.
“We were recognized as a Leader with our SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud solutions being evaluated. Both include a wide range of modern features, multicloud, intercloud, and hybrid compatibility, and comprehensive integration into the wider SAP and non-SAP application ecosystems,” Chirapurath shared.
