SAP Partner LTIMindtree has been tasked with helping Yorkshire Water migrate to SAP S/4HANA and help enable the water utility company to run its business more efficiently and effectively.

In May of 2022, it was revealed that Larsen & Toubro Infotech and Mindtree, both subsidiaries of the Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Group, would be merging to become a single enterprise. The agreement allows LTIMindtree — a combined IT services provider with a client base of over 750 major global corporations across all leading industry verticals and a worldwide footprint of over 30 countries and 5 continents — to merge with another publicly traded company.

On November 14, 2022, the companies ceased to be two separate entities and began functioning as one. LTIMindtree, a company owned by the Larsen & Toubro Group, combines the highly regarded capabilities of Larsen and Toubro Infotech with those of Mindtree, with the goals of resolving the most complicated challenges faced by businesses and bringing about transformation on a massive scale.

As an SAP Partner, Larsen & Toubro Infotech won the Industry Innovation Partner of The Year category in the 2020 SAP Pinnacle Awards. The award recognizes Larsen & Toubro Infotech’s innovative work with SAP technologies to help customers solve complex business challenges. Meanwhile, it can be noted that Mindtree aided Newcrest Mining in making use of SAP Cloud Platform’s services to boost the mining firm’s safety, productivity, and free cash flow. As a result of this transformation effort, Newcrest Mining was recognized as the SAP Innovator at the 2020 SAP Best Run Awards.

LTIMindtree recently revealed that it has also been chosen as a transformation partner by Yorkshire Water, a leading United Kingdom-based utility services provider, to modernize operational processes throughout its asset management, wastewater, and clean water businesses. This selection further solidifies LTIMindtree’s position as an SAP Partner dedicated to helping customers become intelligent enterprises.

Ranked as the ninth largest water utility company globally, Yorkshire Water serves 5.2 million customers across the county of Yorkshire with water and wastewater services. LTIMindtree’s expertise in digital technologies will enable Yorkshire Water to improve operational efficiencies, customer experience, and sustainability. By harnessing the power of SAP solutions, Mindtree will help Yorkshire Water drive significant improvements in water quality and asset performance while reducing leakage – ultimately benefiting both customers and the environment.

Migration to SAP S/4HANA with the Help of LTIMindtree

Expressing the company’s excitement to collaborate closely with Yorkshire Water, Sudhir Chaturvedi, President, and Executive Board Member at LTIMindtree, said that this project will assist in giving millions of consumers access to clean water and safe sanitation, which are the fundamentals of human health, well-being, and growth. He added:

“By blending our next-generation ERP expertise and extensive industry experience with the advanced end-to-end capabilities of SAP S/4HANA, we look forward to accelerating the digital transformation journey of this critical national infrastructure and helping Yorkshire Water deliver services tailored to customer needs.”

SAP S/4HANA is SAP’s fourth-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. It was designed to help organizations streamline their business processes and improve their operational efficiencies. SAP S/4HANA includes a number of innovative features, such as in-memory computing and real-time data analytics, that can help organizations gain a competitive edge. These capabilities support enterprises in making better decisions by providing them with faster access to up-to-date information.

Leveraging SAP S/4HANA, LTIMindtree will allow Yorkshire Water to improve operational efficiencies, extend capabilities, and enhance the user experience by automating and simplifying procedures, consolidating data, and modernizing key systems with intelligent technology. Additionally, Yorkshire Water is also anticipated to achieve enterprise-wide integrated planning and scheduling of work and dynamic asset maintenance with the use of unified assets, personnel, and financial management.

Lee Harris, Head of Technology Change at Yorkshire Water, explained that the partnership plays a key role in the company’s ability to deliver water and wastewater services in a cost-effective, sustainable, and resilient way. In addition to meeting consumers’ immediate healthcare requirements, Harris believes their services contribute to the region’s long-term economic development.

Commenting on its engagement with LTIMindtree for the SAP transformation project, he remarked:

“In LTIMindtree, we have a partner who brings a rich portfolio of innovative offerings and a proven track record of helping similar transformation programs. This partnership will bring us closer to our vision of what shape our operations should take in the future for us to proactively address the economic, social, and environmental needs of tomorrow’s Yorkshire.”
