The German tech giant’s Partner Excellence Awards 2023 provided a platform to recognize the exceptional work of the top SAP Partners in New Zealand.
SAP NZ recently held its inaugural Partner Excellence Awards, a special occasion that celebrated the outstanding achievements of the nation’s best-performing SAP partners. The awards cover six different areas, including excellence in innovation, customer engagement, and cloud delivery – all of which aim to reflect how partners are helping businesses reach their ambitions and continue to grow.
A steering committee of SAP representatives determined the winners for each category by region according to performance criteria. The chosen partners were then honored during an exclusive ceremony as part of a larger partner kick-off event hosted at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland by SAP New Zealand Managing Director Adrian Griffin and Mark Hettler, Head of Partners and Channels for SAP Australia and New Zealand.
The first Partner Excellence Awards marked the beginning of a journey towards building stronger relationships between partners and customers, as well as providing recognition for those delivering outstanding results. The ceremony itself was an opportunity to celebrate the success of the top SAP Partners in New Zealand and recognize their commitment to excellence.

Deloitte was named Partner of the Year for its impressive contribution over the past year. The company also won the Innovation Award for its advancements in building upon and integrating with SAP solutions using the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
Commenting on the merits given to the professional services firm, Deloitte New Zealand Partner Gareth Glover stated that the company is thrilled to be recognized as the German enterprise software giant’s NZ Partner of the Year 2023, also mentioning the award for its innovative work on the SAP Business Technology Platform.
“SAP’s decision to bring its Partner Excellence Awards to New Zealand this year, for the first time, demonstrates the value it places on its partners and the crucial work we’re doing across New Zealand to support SAP customers. On the other hand, Accenture received the Cloud GTM Excellence Award recognizing them for showcasing best practices in supporting customers to grow in the cloud. Lagom took home the Cloud Delivery Excellence Award for its clear adoption of SAP best practices toward delivery growth.
Meanwhile, Realtech earned itself a Cloud Customer Engagement Award due to its robust customer engagement function and methodology as well as growth in current backlog or renewal percentage rates. Lastly, DXC Practice was awarded Customer Lifetime Value Realization Award for realizing customer lifetime value through increasing utilization rates and a strong customer strategy.
Projects entered into consideration ranged from tackling significant business issues such as skills gaps or capacity challenges to employee education and compliance management. It is clear that these top partners are playing an instrumental role in helping customers innovate, gain rapid results, grow sustainably, and run better than ever before with their invaluable expertise coupled with comprehensive solutions from SAP. This year’s award recipients helped many customers navigate through uncertainty and disruption by leveraging the power of SAP technologies.
