By leveraging the new free extension from SAP partner iXerv, Peru-based construction and information technology (IT) company Cosapi was able to move quickly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure employee safety in the workplace. The innovative application from iXerv is integrated with SAP SuccessFactors solutions and tracks employee health information.
Designed by iXerv’s Principal expert—who has over 15 years’ experience working in Human Resources and has worked on over 12 SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementations—the free extension allowed Cosapi to not only identify employees belonging to high-risk groups and track employee health status, but more importantly, gain crucial insight into how employees feel about working during the pandemic. Through this, the company was able to enhance employee experience, mitigate disruptions brought on by the pandemic, and protect its business operations.

Tracking and Managing Employee Health and Safety
With iXerv’s technology, Cosapi employees are required to answer questions within SAP SuccessFactors about their health, travel movements, concerns, and other increasingly vital information. Employees who fail to do so are automatically flagged by the system and will not be allowed to return to Cosapi offices once they are cleared for reopening.
The SAP partner’s COVID-19 solution provides a self-service portlet for Employee Files, a Home Page tile, and a report that provides aggregated information about the health of employees which can be used for tracking COVID-19 related information. The extension can also be updated to allow the gathering of new information on employees as the need evolves. Cosapi used this feature to obtain insight and vital information on employee risks such as information on whether any of an employee’s family members have come into contact with infected individuals.
iXerv posted the free solution through the SAP community site last April in response to SAP’s C19FREEACCESS initiative that called on partners to help support businesses and address the global challenges related to the fight against COVID-19. The extension can be easily built in the SAP SuccessFactors Extension Center using iXerv’s step-by-step guide and video. iXerv also provides information related to legal regulations around health-related data protection, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in the European Union.
