The Qualtrics XM for Education team of experts collaborates with institutions across higher education, primary and secondary education, and academic research to bolster organisations’ experience transformation.
Experience Management company Qualtrics has been delivering software solutions to organisations from various industries worldwide, enabling them to delve into people’s insights to be able to make informed decisions and take the right actions promptly. Since COVID-19 shook the world in 2020, many companies and institutions have turned to their technology partners, including Qualtrics, to help them combat unprecedented challenges to survive and remain agile.
The education institution is one of the industries that has been gravely impacted by the pandemic restrictions and lockdowns. Though schools have quickly adapted to hybrid learning, the health crisis’ adverse effects on student outcomes are yet to be known especially since the pandemic situation is far from over.
In a recent report by National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, the total post-secondary enrollment declined by 4.1% (16.2 million) this spring, equivalent to about 685,000 students. A Qualtrics study also revealed that there is a disparity in the students’ and administrators’ perceptions of students’ disposition with the social aspects of college, wherein 78% of administrators say students are satisfied while only 58% of students say they are.
Qualtrics XM for Education Software Uncovering Pressing Needs
More necessary than ever, education institutions are compelled to better understand the changing dynamics of today’s learning environment from both the teachers’ and students’ perspectives to mitigate any further effects of the pandemic. Opportunely, Qualtrics launched its latest software solution to help schools evaluate and enhance teaching, student engagement, performance, and retention.
Qualtrics’ new Course Evaluations platform is designed to offer institutions a seamless experience with a streamlined course evaluation programme that integrates with institutional systems. The software is the only unified solution that encompasses the evaluation process, end-to-end, ultimately addressing today’s students’ needs.
“Schools are still adapting to the seismic changes of the pandemic. Their task now is to dial into the experiences students are having — in and out of the classroom — that will keep them engaged in learning,” explained Omar Garriott, global head of education at Qualtrics. “Students demand it. Waiting weeks or months to collect course and instructor feedback is a thing of the past. Qualtrics helps schools understand and take action on what students are saying more often as we all push forward into a new normal of teaching and learning.”
Leveraging Qualtrics Course Evaluations software, schools can:
- Seamlessly and quickly create course evaluations faster with an expert-designed, purpose-built question library
- Automate gathering of accurate, real-time feedback
- Uncover and analyse key drivers of course satisfaction at the department, instructor, and course level
- Identify learning experience gaps and take action on those that have the biggest impact on experience, engagement, and performance
Embracing Automation
Qualtrics XM for Education has been delivering purpose-built solutions to education institutions across K-12 and Higher Education around the globe to help them accelerate their experience transformation journey. For instance, the Qualtrics Course Evaluations solution has enabled William Paterson University in New Jersey to ramp up the automation of its evaluation process.
Tony Krucinski, department coordinator for instruction and research technology at William Paterson University, shared the challenges of having a hybrid versus a face-to-face learning environment. He said:
“With a hybrid or fully remote format, sometimes our students feel distant like they can’t openly engage. Whereas in the classroom, you can tell if a student is lost just by looking at them. We’re seeing a lot more students providing open-ended responses because they can submit evaluations digitally via their cell phones, laptops, or tablets.”
The user-friendly platform enabled the university to expedite sending students invitations and reminders to complete a common evaluation as well as tracking response rates and analyzing results to enhance teaching and learning. Through the Qualtrics Course Evaluations software, the faculty had a better grasp of the students’ pressing needs such as connecting via Zoom and hosting virtual office hours to keep them engaged.
