SAP Quality Awards 2024 Honors Outstanding SAP Projects

The SAP Quality Awards 2024 showcased the diverse and innovative SAP projects across Germany, highlighting the commitment to excellence in various industries and applications.

The SAP Quality Awards 2024 took place on June 28th in the VIP Lounge of the SAP Arena, celebrating Germany’s most impressive SAP projects. The event was graced by a video greeting from Sven Mulder, Managing Director of SAP Germany, who acknowledged the courage and dedication of customers and partners, congratulating the 13 winners on their exemplary achievements. Alexander Michnov, Head of Partner Ecosystem Management at SAP Germany, highlighted the integral relationship between SAP, its partners, and customers during the event. Winners were chosen through a meticulous pre-selection process before being recommended for the extensive nomination procedure by their implementation partners or SAP itself. According to MEE Quality Director Irini Kalamaris, all participants could feel accomplished, even if they did not win the Grand Winner title, emphasizing the high standards upheld by the annual awards.

Showcasing Excellence at SAP Quality Awards 2024

The competition featured a variety of SAP projects, categorized to ensure fair comparison based on project size and implementation speed. This year, the categories included “Rapid Time to Value,” “SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Solution,” and “Sustainability,” evaluating projects on how well they met ten established SAP quality criteria.

In the “Rapid Time to Value” category, smaller, innovative projects were showcased. The jury examined projects requiring fewer than 600 users, less than 1,000 person-days of effort, and a maximum of seven months from kickoff to go-live, with only one of these criteria allowed to be exceeded.

GROZ-BECKERT used SAP Sales & Service Cloud and SAP Field Service Management (FSM) to standardize their sales process from the customer portal to the Sales Cloud. On the other hand, HANSA-FLEX implemented SAP Analytics Cloud to create a central platform for corporate management and sales support based on SAP S/4 HANA.

Furthermore, KLINGELE used SAP Ariba solutions, including Ariba Risk, to comply with the “Supply Chain Due Diligence Act” (LkSG), integrating a due diligence process and the role of a human rights officer with minimal effort. KLINGELE Paper & Packaging Group was declared the Grand Winner in this category.

Meanwhile, the “SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Solution” category recognized three winners for their successful implementation of the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Solution in 2023. POWERCO, in collaboration with SAP Deutschland SE & Co. KG, implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private and Public Cloud Edition for its battery cell production facilities in Spain and Germany, with plans to expand to Canada. The project focused on achieving optimal quality within a short timeframe.

abl transformed its structure using SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and SAP Sales & Service Cloud with the help of All for One PublicCloudERP GmbH, resulting in improved decision-making and reduced TCO. Additionally, KE ELEKTRONIK implemented core business processes using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition in a brownfield approach with partner Sycor GmbH, focusing on budget, time, and quality. POWERCO was named the Grand Winner.

Highlighting Innovative SAP Projects

In the “Sustainability” category, the jury evaluated implementations of SAP sustainability solutions. HENKEL utilized SAP Responsible Design and Production for Plastic Tax (RDP) to streamline the recording of production parameters relevant to the plastic tax, enhancing transparency within three months.

SIEMENS HEALTHINEERS also improved future packaging sustainability using the same SAP RDP solution, characterized by team competence and technical depth. In addition, DMK GROUP introduced SAP Sustainability Footprint Management (SFM) to provide transparency on the CO2 footprint, addressing customer information needs and identifying reduction initiatives. SIEMENS HEALTHINEERS was celebrated as the Grand Winner.

Lastly, the “Business Transformation” category awarded four winners for their outstanding projects. MULTIVAC, with partner EMPLEOX GmbH, implemented the SAP SuccessFactors Suite globally for applicant management, onboarding, and training, replacing old systems and enhancing user experience. kyndryl transitioned from IBM systems to SAP S/4HANA on-premises solutions with a hybrid approach, supported by KPMG, integrating multiple cloud and on-premises solutions and replacing hundreds of legacy applications.

MEWA Textil-Service SE & Co. Management OHG, in partnership with Sybit GmbH, also implemented SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales & Service Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, and SAP CPI, creating an interlinked customer service portal for its rapidly growing user base. The STIHL Group modernized its procure-to-pay process with SAP ARIBA Buying, standardizing procurement processes worldwide using a global template and adhering to consistent process specifications. MULTIVAC and MEWA Textil-Service were both honored as Grand Winners in this category.
