TripIt from Concur offers travel management solutions such as creating a master itinerary for multiple trips and managing bookings made with Concur Travel or TripLink travel partners.

After being confined at home due to lockdown and quarantine protocols for almost a year, people are now motivated in planning their travel itineraries whether for business, leisure, or a much-needed visit to families.  In time for the anticipated surge in domestic and international travel and the rebound of the travel industry, TripIt from Concur has released new app features to guide travellers as they plan for their trips under a COVID-19 environment.

Travelling in the new normal is constantly changing and evolving as border restrictions and government-mandated lockdowns vary per state and country. In Australia, for example, states and territories implement or repeal different levels of restrictions as needed to contain the coronavirus. Travellers can take advantage of the latest TripIt app travel management solutions, which include the latest COVID-19 travel guidelines, restrictions, and requirements as well as infection rates in over 200 countries and territories.

By simply downloading the TripIt app, aside from receiving organised master itinerary, users can now get access to COVID-19 related information in the specific destination they intend to visit. For example, those planning to travel to Australia and the US can view travel guidelines in the app by state. For those looking at Canada as their next travel destination, the app gives them guidance per province.

Updated Travel Management Solutions

The impressive master itinerary for every trip that TripIt creates for users is now made even smarter. Now, a TripIt itinerary will include a guidebook button for additional COVID-related guidelines to help users prepare for their next trip.

For every country, state, or province you plan to visit, the following information is now made available in the app:

  • Key information such as infection rates, hotspots, and any quarantine or testing requirements for travellers entering the area
  • Requirements and restrictions that are currently being implemented, including but not limited to mask requirements, curfew orders, and restrictions on retail and dining
  • Travel guidelines such as health documentation requirements, entry and exit rules, and travel bans issued for your destination

Aside from the latest app features, TripIt also has the Neighborhood Safety Scores feature, which shows safety scores for a variety of categories in each location on a TripIt itinerary with an address. Users can stay informed with the Traveller Resource Centre for public health and safety advisories, booking cancellation, and travel policies.

Jen Moyse, Senior Director of Product at Tripit, shared:

“There’s no question that travel right now can be stressful. That’s why TripIt has focused on product enhancements over the past few months that help travelers feel as prepared and informed as possible—so that their trips can be just a little bit easier.”

“Adding COVID-19 travel guidance into TripIt gives travelers all the information they need in one place, so they don’t have to spend time hunting around for links or worrying if the information is current,” she further stressed.

Moyse explained that the latest TripIt app development was in partnership with Denmark-based Riskline, a world-class travel risk intelligence company. The collaboration enables users to get the most up-to-date COVID-related information from a truly reliable source. Riskline provides risk assessments for hundreds of destinations around the world – countries, territories, regions, and cities.
